In recent What the Fuck news it seems that Broadway is trying to bring the big bucks of Spiderman to the stage. Playbill.com is reporting that
A musical version of the Marvel mega hit is coming to Broadway this summer, and what it may lack in big screen movie stars, it more than makes up for with rock music caliber.U2’s Bono and The Edge have signed on to score stage endeavor, penning “pop/rock” music and lyrics for the show, which will be presented in New York on July 12 and 13 in a two-day rehearsed Equity reading. “The Lion King’s” Tony Award-winning Julie Taymor ups the production’s credibility factor as director of the show.

Just because people will watch the movie doesn’t mean that they will sit through a three hour musical presentation where an actor jumps across the stage on a wire.
We can already see 20 years from now the terrible high school productions that we will all have to sit through.
